Reenacting Civil War Firing Drills

While I was an intern at the Texas Military Forces Museum I was able to learn many aspects of how a museum works.  I gave tours, cataloged materials, did research, assisted in building exhibits, did outreach and even shot a musket.  The museum only has three full time staff and two interns, so volunteers are crucial to keeping the museum moving forward.  Luckily there are many individuals who gladly give their time to assist in reenactments and other activities at the museum that gain community awareness.  I was fortunate enough to be able to film a group of these reenactors for the museum's latest exhibit.  As part of their interactive touchscreen you can choose various civil war firing drills with accompanying descriptions of what is happening in each.  I was responsible for shooting, editing and finishing these short clips while working closely with the museum's director to ensure that historical accuracy and aesthetic quality combined for the best interactive possible.
